Those days at BlueGlass were short-lived, but forever in my heart

Those days at BlueGlass were short-lived, but will forever be in my heart ᵕ̈

My professional story is one of persistence, passion, and fun

In July 2012, I landed my first paying PR job at a digital marketing firm, BlueGlass Interactive, an agency that at the time was making waves in the SEO industry. In April 2013, the day we learned our agency was shutting its doors, I quickly did two things– let Twitter know that I was looking for work (I knew the SEO industry was watching), and forwarded my correspondence with the NY Times to my personal email. At home, I continued to work with the journalist resulting in this placement with the NY Times, notified the client, and signed them on as my own client. I brought on a few more clients via that tweet. I started working for myself full-time, less than a year into my career.

One of my clients, Student Loan Hero, would change the trajectory of my career and life forever. They were in their startup phase, so I had the pleasure of experimenting in a high-growth environment. I was hooked. Our working relationship was so perfect, that I agreed to take on building their outreach team as a full-time, in-house employee in 2015. In July 2018, Student Loan Hero sold to LendingTree for $60 million. Included in the acquisition was the outreach team and program that I built.

At LendingTree, I began to miss the ‘small yet mighty’ teams I used to work with. Upon this realization, I swiftly finished onboarding our team, then went full-time independent again. I haven’t looked back since. And, to this day, I’m STILL working with a client I signed on prior to working at Student Loan Hero.
